Post and parcels
You many notice that your home doesn’t have a post box out the front. Australia Post doesn’t offer a roadside service to the township.
Instead we have a post box shed located to the west of the open space in the middle of town (Adam Street, opposite Hill Street).
In this shed are 50+ post office boxes and parcel lockers. To ensure our town can continue to receive mail in a convenient manner, DRAC paid for the installation of these boxes in 2024, and manages distribution of boxes and keys.
An Australia Post representative attends this shed on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 12:30-1pm SA time. Residents are invited to attend the shed at this time to pick up packages and socialise with other residents.
If you can’t make it to the shed at that time letters will be placed in your post box and any parcels will be placed in the parcel lockers (you will get a key to the corresponding parcel box in your letterbox. Please return that key in the red box in the wall). If the parcel lockers are full, or the parcel is too large to fit in a locker, it will be taken to the roadhouse in Nelson (just over the border in South Australia).
To get a PO box for your property please contact us at DRAC and we will arrange for you to receive keys. PO boxes are a one time fee of $20 to help reimburse DRAC for purchasing the boxes for the township. Additional keys will be charged at a cost per key.
CFS
The township is lucky to have a dedicated CFS, with a shed and truck. We invite you to join by contacting the controller Mike.
